Under floor heating features energy efficiency and no maintenance and has several advantages as an alternative to conventional central heating. Combining radiant and convected heat for more even temperatures between floor and ceiling it is warmer under foot as well as solving the problem of space and unattractive radiators.
Underfloor Heating helps to reduce the number of dust mites in your home because moisture content levels are low. This can aid sufferers of asthma and other breathing complications. South Thames Gas installs systems to meet all your requirements and offer FREE estimates and competitive rates.
Warm water underfloor heating
Underfloor heating systems circulate warm water through tubing embedded in the floor of your home. Water circulated from your boiler to the electrically operated zone valves (radiators, hot water and underfloor heating) with a conventional heating system or (radiators, underfloor heating) with a combination boiler. When the room stat calls for heat the water passes through the zone valve and then onto the manifold where the water is circulated through continuous lengths of pipe embedded in the floor, that run at a lower water temperature (typically 50°C) than the radiators (70°C).
The unique manifold arrangement provides excellent water temperature control, blending the hot water of your heating system down to the ideal and safe temperatures used in true underfloor heating systems. The pack includes electrical controls and valves that enable your underfloor system to operate independently from your existing heating system in line with current building regulation part L.
Electric underfloor heating
Electric heating is efficient, viable and effective and is the only genuinely sustainable fuel type currently available. Electric heating is the best means of future proofing and meeting the needs of sustainable zero carbon housing programme.
Electric underfloor mats can be used with any type of flooring, including ceramic tiles, carpet, laminate or wooden floors. The underfloor mats are available to fit most rooms, from the smallest through to the largest space. The benefits of the electric underfloor heating are the low running costs and they are maintenance free. Unlike gas, there are no annual servicing requirements and no danger of leaks occurring.
